The Fulbright Foreign Student Programme, the U.S. government’s prestigious international scholarships programme, provides scholarships that enable graduate students, young professionals and artists from more than 160 countries to study and conduct research at the master’s degree level in the United States. Citizens of most Arab countries are eligible to apply. Please use the drop-down menu here to find information about the Fulbright Programme in your country, including eligibility requirements and application guidelines.
Fulbright scholars receive two years of funding to cover tuition and other expenses while pursuing a full-time master’s degree. Applications are accepted in most fields of study, including the humanities, social sciences, science, technology, and engineering. However, courses with a clinical studies component, such as medicine and nursing, generally are not permitted.
The Fulbright Programme encourages students from all backgrounds, including those with disabilities, to apply. Upon completion of their study programme, Fulbright scholars are required to return to their home country for two years before becoming eligible to apply for other U.S. visas.
The programme is administered by U.S. Embassies in most countries, by binational Fulbright Commissions or Foundations in some countries, and by Amideast in certain countries in the Middle East and North Africa. For more information about award eligibility and application details, contact the U.S. Embassy or the Amideast field office in your country, or the Fulbright Commission in Egypt, Jordan, or Morocco.
